Header section

In the header section, basic information about the table is displayed, regardless of the edit mode.

On the left side, the name and description of the variant table are visible.

Setting a Table as a Favorite

Next to the table name, there is a star icon. By selecting the star with the primary mouse button, the table can be marked as a favorite.

If the star is filled, the variant table is marked as a favorite. This table will appear in the favorites list on the homepage.

By selecting the filled star again, the favorite marking can be removed. The star will then be displayed as just the outline, and the variant table will be removed from the favorites list on the homepage.

This function can be used in both display and edit modes. Alternatively, a table can be directly deleted from the favorites list by clicking the trash bin icon on the respective row.

Additional Information for the Variant Table

On the right side, additional administrative information about the table can be accessed. To maximize the space available for displaying the table content, this information is initially hidden. By selecting the "Down Arrow" or "Up Arrow" icon with the primary mouse button, this data can be shown or hidden. The displayed information is retrieved and presented from the SAP backend system.

Table Area

The table area is treated differently depending on the edit state. The functions placed above the table are activated or deactivated based on the chosen mode:

  • In display mode, all functions for modifying the table content are initially grayed out.
  • The edit mode allows the use of all functions. Additionally, in this mode, an extra column with checkboxes appears before the ID column to enable the selection of individual or all rows for editing.

The functions in the footer section are also controlled by the edit mode.

Display Mode:

In the lower right corner, only the "Edit Table" button is visible. As long as fewer than two tables are already open in edit mode, clicking this button with the primary mouse button will switch the table to edit mode.

Edit Mode:

As long as the table has not yet been edited, the Eye (active), Save, and Discard (grayed out) buttons are visible.

Once changes are made to the table, the grayed-out buttons become active. Clicking the "Discard" button with the primary mouse button will undo all changes, and the table content will be reset to its state at the time of the last query in the backend.

The "Save" button transfers the changes to the backend. The same checks are performed as with a backend adjustment. The user will receive feedback about the result of the process.

By clicking the Eye button with the primary mouse button, the table will switch back to display mode.
